Helping You Heal What You’ve Been Trying to Hide

Meet Amanda- a Houston based counselor who helps Christian women untangle their thoughts, heal emotional wounds, and find peace that lasts without having to leave their faith behind.

Amanda Moore, M.Ed., LPC

For a long time, I wore a smile on the outside while my thoughts raced on the inside. I was the “strong one,” the responsible one, the one who had it all together until I didn’t. The truth is, I was anxious, overwhelmed, and stuck. But I didn’t have the words for it at the time. I just knew that something didn’t feel right.

I grew up in a legalistic church environment—one that taught rules more than relationship. I knew about God, but I didn’t know Jesus. Not personally. Not intimately. My faith felt more like a checklist than a lifeline. So when anxiety began to take hold of my life, I kept quiet. I thought it was my job to just push through, pray harder, and not make a fuss.

I had never known anyone who had gone to counseling. I believed that needing help was a sign of weakness or a lack of faith. The shame of it all kept me silent for far too long. Eventually when the weight became too heavy to carry alone, I walked into a counseling office. And while that step took courage, I quickly realized something was missing. The counselor didn’t share my faith. They couldn’t speak to the deepest parts of my soul or the God I was trying to trust. I left those sessions feeling misunderstood and spiritually disconnected.

Bringing faith into therapy.

That’s when the Lord gently redirected me. I found a Christian counselor who saw me, spiritually and emotionally. Someone who didn’t separate my mental health from my walk with Christ. Through that experience, I finally began to experience real peace. I started to understand that anxiety didn’t make me a bad Christian. It just meant I was human. And more than that, it meant I needed healing.

God planted a new calling in me: to walk alongside other women who are battling the same silent struggles I once faced.

That season didn’t just transform me. It changed the entire trajectory of my life. Today, I help Christian women break free from mental and emotional burdens through Christ-centered therapy. Together, we uncover the root of what’s holding them back whether it’s anxiety, self-doubt, people-pleasing, or past wounds, so they can step into lasting peace and walk confidently in the identity God has already given them.

Am I the therapist for you?

I’ve helped women:

  • Discover their worth in Christ (not their performance or people’s approval)

  • Heal from childhood and generational trauma

  • Set healthy boundaries without guilt

  • Stop overthinking and finally find rest for their minds and hearts

And by God’s grace, I’m living proof of what’s possible. I no longer live in shame about needing help. I feel secure in who I am, confident in my relationships, and grounded in a faith that is real, personal, and powerful.

This isn’t just my profession. It’s my ministry. And if you’re feeling stuck, heavy, or unsure of how to move forward, I want you to know you’re not alone. Healing is possible. Peace is possible. And freedom in Christ is absolutely possible.

Let’s walk toward it together.
